DESCRIPTION:Girls in Manufacturing is a one day hands-on technical experience designed to empower and encourage girls to consider careers in manufacturing! \nDuring this event participants will: \n\nLearn all stages of the manufacturing process\nUse tools and equipment to manufacture a project\nManufacture a project that they can take home\nMeet women leaders in the area who work in manufacturing.\n\nThis event is designed for girls aged 13 and up. The event will take place at the SUNY Niagara Welding Lab on Saturday\, March 7\, 2026 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Parents\, grandparents\, guardians\, mentors or teachers are encouraged to participate with the student(s) they sign up. Students participating will build a project and take it home with them\, learn more about the Dream It Do It Advanced Manufacturing program and explore manufacturing career opportunities. Lunch is provided and participants receive a t-shirt. There is no cost to participate in this event! \nRegister Here Today! \nDream It Do It Western New York offers equal opportunity programming. While the Girls in Manufacturing program is focused on females the program is open to all genders. Women make up about 47% of the American workforce but only 30% work in manufacturing.
